This is a branch of a silk floss tree, Ceiba speciosa, expanding subsequent to the mall in El Cajon, California.

I have previously posted images of the bark, the fruit, a much more close-up view of the thorns, and the flower that this belongs to. This is the last in this series. The next time I go to San Diego County, I require to feel the thorns, to make sure that they are a sharp as they search.
